For the “Long Night of Museums Hamburg 2024” on April 27, 2024, the Museum of Arts and Crafts will show the diversity of deconstructed fashion over time with exhibits by, for example, Vivienne Westwood, Marina Hoermanseder and Rei Kawakubo.
Rebellious Fashion at Night!
Attention night owls and fashion lovers in Hamburg. Next Saturday, alongside 52 other museums and cultural exhibition locations, the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (MK&G for short) near the main train station will open its doors between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m. as part of this year’s “Long Night of Museums Hamburg.”
This makes it possible for visitors interested in fashion to take an evening or nighttime gallery walk through the exhibition “IM POSSIBLE – Everything is allowed!” in the MK&G.

Here you can discover a wide variety of fashion pieces from world-renowned fashion designers, which, as a result of fashion deconstruction, bring with them versatile and rebellious ways of presenting the self. In the process, common, well-known rules and lines in fashion design are broken down, so that individual and unusual items of clothing are created, apart from the function itself.
In the exhibition, for example, there are exhibits from Vivienne Westwood, Iris van Herpen or Marina Hoermanseder to find. These are complemented by current fashion pieces from young, aspiring fashion creators in order to be able to exchange ideas regarding the deconstruction of fashion across decades and generations.
