Meanwhile, Moscow ranked 33rd among the capitals covered by the study with an average rent of $682, according to analysts from the Russian company Tsian.
Cairo also turned out to be the cheapest, with a one-bedroom apartment in the center costing $209 and in the suburbs $136. Next comes New Delhi in India, where housing costs $268 in the center and $151 outside, and Vietnam’s main city, Hanoi, at $339 and $225 in its suburbs.
Among the 10 most expensive capitals are Brasilia, Brazil, where the average monthly rent is $297; Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, $310; Dushanbe, Tajikistan, $325; Baku, Azerbaijan, $363; Minsk, Belarus, $374; Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, $416; and Buenos Aires, Argentina, $426.
