London: Demonstration in London in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The protesters demanded an immediate end to the ongoing occupation of Gaza and action for war crimes. Around 200,000 people lined up in a long protest program starting from the head office of the international media BBC to 10 Downing Street, the office of the British Prime Minister. The protesters demanded an immediate end to the brutal attacks on Gaza and action against Israel for war crimes. Pro-Palestinian organizations such as Friends of Al-Aqsa, Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Muslim Association of Britain and Stop the War Coalition called for the protest.
Protesters also accused the UK government, which supports Israel, of complicity in war crimes. The protest waved huge flags and chanted Free Palestine slogans in defiance of British Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s proposal that slogans demanding independence for Palestine and waving the Palestinian flag should be considered support for terrorism.
The protestors responded that lakhs of people came with the protest as a strong message against the double standards of the western governments. The event was attended by dignitaries including the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK. Apart from London, protest events were staged in cities like Manchester, Coventry, Nottingham, where thousands participated.
