Lollipop Chainsaw – Pull out the chainsaws, Remake has now been officially announced

Dragami Games has officially announced that a remake of Lollipop Chainsaw is in development and will be released in 2023. Yoshimi Yasuda, executive producer of Lollipop Chainsaw and founder of Dragami Games, announced last month that “Lollipop Chainsaw is back”. Now it seems the cult action classic will return in the form of a remake. Yasuda revealed that Dragami Games bought the Lollipop Chainsaw IP from previous publisher Kadokawa Games, with support from Warner Bros, who published the game in the West.

“We, the original developers of Lollipop Chainsaw, consider the game very valuable to us and didn’t want to leave it in abeyance where players who want to play it can’t do it”Yasuda said in the announcement.

While this is an exciting announcement for fans of the game looking to play it on modern consoles, there are some details regarding the remake that may not please everyone. While the original game featured fifteen licensed songs, the remake will consist mostly of new music, as Yasuda says it’s “difficult” to include the licensed music. Additionally, Yasuda says that given the higher specs of modern consoles, the development team “will take a more realistic approach to the graphics this time around,” which might pose a problem for those who liked the original game’s stylized graphics.

No platforms have been announced yet, but this Remake von Lollipop Chainsaw should in the year 2023 appear.
