Lola Satre Morales breaks national sub 20 record in 800 meters, valid since 1988
The Guatemalan athlete Lola Satre Morales participated this Saturday in the American championship, IHSA Class 3A TRG Sectional in Illinois, in which she came first and broke the national under 20 record, in force since 1988.

Competing in the university 800 meter category, Satre Morales recorded a mark of 2:13:26, for the Naperville school; She was followed by Ava Gilley, who came in second for Downers Grove in 2:13:31.
Third place went to Emma Berrers of North Naperville, with 2:14:40; fourth was Abby Mogg, of Naperville Central, the same as Morales, with 2:17:41; and Hannah Renner, also of Downers Grove, finished fifth in 2:18:61.
It should be remembered that the previous sub 20 national record belonged to Ana Leticia Jiménez, who did 2:13:51 on July 25, 1988. It should also be mentioned that Lola is the daughter of Blanca Morales, a swimmer who attended the Olympic Games. from Barcelona in 1992 to represent Guatemala.
This is not the first time that Lola breaks a national brand. In June 2023, she won the under 18 400 meter category with 58.06, the previous mark belonged to Natalia Elizondo since 2019 with 58.92.
