LoL: After more than 1500 days of waiting, this champion will finally receive a new skin

Lux, Ahri, Ezreal, or even Miss Fortune, here are some of the champions with the most skins in League of Legends. Not content with possessing a huge amount of them, the regularity with which they get them is quite striking, as they usually wait less than 300 days between appearances.

Of course, with over 160 champions, it’s hard for Riot Games to keep everyone happy, and some less popular champions have to wait a little longer than others. Monetization of LoL relies heavily on cosmetics, so it makes sense for the studio to favor the most popular characters. However, some champions have been waiting a long time, too long.

Dr. Mundo remembers fond memories of Riot Games

Last Friday, Riot Games released a new video showcasing the new features and updates coming throughout League of Legends Season 13. Disappearance of Blind mode, information on the redesign of Skarner, the studio delivered a lot of news. One of them concerns the themes of skins and events.

The developers have announced that they want to explore more themes this year (like the new Fairy Court), but also create new ones for larger events which will arrive a little later (during the MSI in May, and during the big summer event in the middle of the year).

In addition to exploring new themes, we’re also creating skins for champions who haven’t had one in a while and need appreciation, namely Udyr, Shyvana, and Mundo.

For the record, Udyr and Dr. Mundo are the only two characters who have been waiting for a new skin for over 1000 days (and only 787 for Shyvana).

  • doctor World : Frozen Prince Mundo (December 2018)
  • Udyr : Udyr Dragon Oracle (August 2019)

This situation is easily explained since the two champions have undergone complete overhauls, and on this occasion, all of their skins have been redone to current standards.. So we can say that they had – in a way – new cosmetics.

Still, it’s nice to see that Riot Games cares about players loving these characters and finally giving them a real new look.
