Lokayukta notice to former health minister KK Shailaja on complaint of corruption in purchase of PPE kit during covid. The complaint is that there has been a corruption of crores in buying PPE kit at three times the current price. The Lokayukta accepted the petition in the file following the preliminary investigation found that the complaint had merit. A notice was sent to KK Shailaja stating that she should appear on the 8th of December. The notice has been sent to 12 people including Rajan Khobragade, who was the secretary of the health department, Navjot Khosa, MD of KMSCL, Balamurali and MD Dileep. The government claims that due to the shortage of PPE kits due to the Covid period, they had to pay more because they bought them wherever they might get them. But the complaint says that the company that gave the minimum quota was excluded and bought for a higher amount. The complainants include Veena S. Nair.
