New Delhi: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has said that the Lok Sabha will not function without an apology from party president Sonia Gandhi over Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary’s remarks. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury called President Draupadi Murmu as ‘Rashtrapatni’. BJP wants Sonia Gandhi to apologize for the incident.
In response to the BJP’s demand that the Congress and Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary apologize, the opposition also demanded an apology from Union Minister Smriti Irani. When the Lok Sabha met on the 11th, some opposition members, including Congress MPs, came to the center stage and protested. Chowdhury explained that he had a tongue problem and that it happened because Hindi was not his mother tongue. He also said on Thursday that he would apologize directly to the President.
