UX Group, a hub for technology solutions, operations and logistics services, has just signed a partnership with Carbonext, a company dedicated to the sale of credits for carbon offsetting, to make 100% of its deliveries sustainable.

With the partnership, all deliveries made by first e last mile of the UX Delivery vertical will be compensated per kilometer – which corresponds to 2.5 million kilometers per month and translates into savings of more than a thousand kg of CO2 per month.

As explained by Eneas Zamboni, CEO of UX Group, the company has around 110 cars involved in the project. He stresses that all customers will benefit from the initiative, including Multi Móveis, Lemon Basics, E-digital and TS.

“With this implementation, we position UX Group as a reference in the care of the environment. We understand how important carbon offsetting is to help mitigate the effects of greenhouse gas emissions, responsible for global warming and climate change. We are happy to take the first step ahead of other companies operating in the delivery segment”, says the executive.

According to Zamboni, when a company offsets its carbon emissions, it consequently invests in projects that reduce or eliminate greenhouse gas emissions elsewhere. These projects may include the deployment of renewable energy sources, the improvement of energy efficiency in buildings and industrial processes, reforestation or the sustainable management of forests.

Furthermore, carbon offsetting can have additional benefits such as improving the living conditions of local communities, creating green jobs and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. “We understand the importance of our role as part of a broader effort to promote socio-environmental sustainability”, concludes the executive.
