In collaboration with the National Bank, the new Ubisoft Entrepreneurial Caravan is a support program that helps video game entrepreneurs in Quebec.

Through a four-stage program, the program will offer training, networking and professional exchanges, as well as discovery of the studios by the general public.

“Thanks to themes ranging from business start-up to marketing and discoverability, without forgetting the search for financing, independent video game companies will benefit from a complete path to ensure the success of their entrepreneurial project,” according to the press release.

In summary, this program promises to meet the specific needs of young independent studios and support them throughout their growth.

Study on the Quebec video game industry: the ingredients for global success

After three decades, the video game sector in Quebec has become one of the five main production centers in the world.

Commissioned by the Quebec Video Game Guild and financed by Behavior Interactif, the study reveals the presence of 280 studios, 86% of which belong to Quebec interests, for a sector worth nearly $1.4 billion.

The four industry strengths mentioned by the study:

The industry has established itself as a global leader in the video games sector over the past 3 decades. The sector has experienced significant growth since the 1990s with the arrival of major international studios as well as the presence of employees, 80% of whom have degrees in digital creativity and the field of video games. The geographical location of Quebec, and the cultural ties that the province maintains with the United States and Europe allow Quebec studios to be well positioned to do business in both markets. The high quality of life in Quebec and multiculturalism in Montreal are important vectors of attraction for talent. Schools offering specializations in video game development ensure a rich pool of local talent.
