LMD system at UNISIC: The Kambayi committee reduces the academic internship to one week –

The destructuring of the academic system so decried at UNISIC seems to have reached its climax.

Denounced by the Association of Professors and the inter-union of staff of this university, this deep evil which paralyses this institution, once prestigious, is getting bogged down.

The UNISIC management committee has just approved a calendar organizing the academic internship of Master 1 and Master 2 students, in 1 week. From August 29 to September 6, 2024.

And for this exceptional internship concocted by the Kambayi committee, students must pay $20 each as internship fees.

Need money? Sell-off of Congolese youth training?

It seems that the UNISIC authorities have become masters in organizing atypical academic activities. After the $50 bridge imposed on graduate students of the old system, prematurely dumped into Masters, they have just launched the one-week internship.

A tropicalized version of the LMD system made in UNISIC, with training that can be done in half a day.

.

What does the program actually provide in the LMD system?

In LMD, Bologna process version, the internship duration varies between eight weeks (minimum) and twenty-six. Two to six months outside of class periods. And if the final year student is lucky enough to get a fixed-term contract, he is often allowed to take it and it serves as an internship.

In the Master’s program, the internship completes the student’s practical training and allows them to integrate smoothly into the professional world.

In immersion, the student is not an observer, but rather an actor in his training by putting into practice what he has learned in class, by learning new skills through practice and by developing a critical reflection of professional practices based on the lessons received. It is impossible to achieve all this in one week.

The first week of internship generally only serves the student to discover his professional environment and begin to adapt to it. But for the UNISIC authorities, a student can achieve perfect immersion in one week.

There is therefore reason to fear the quality of the future graduates of this university which is increasingly becoming a shadow of its former self.

Wait and see !
