Ljubicic and Dilaver with Dinamo Zagreb in group stage

Dinamo Zagreb, Glasgow Rangers and FC Copenhagen advanced to the group stage of the Champions League on Wednesday. Dinamo Zagreb’s Robert Ljubicic and Emir Dilaver beat FK Bodö/Glimt 4-1 in extra time in the second leg of the play-off. Josip Drmic scored the decisive goal in Zagreb in the 117th minute, Petar Bockaj (120th) made everything clear on the counterattack.

Dinamo were on course with Ljubicic at left-back and substitute Dilaver (from the 71st minute) following Mislav Orsic scored in the fourth minute and Bruno Petkovic scored with an overhead kick in the 35th minute. However, the Croatian champions took a step back and were punished. Denmark’s Albert Grönbaek (70′) deservedly put the team from the small town of Bodö into overtime.

Rangers throw PSV Eindhoven out

Glasgow Rangers, last season’s Europa League finalists, beat PSV Eindhoven in the play-off. A 2-2 win in the first leg was followed by a 1-0 away win in the Netherlands. A 0-0 draw once morest Trabzonspor was enough for Copenhagen following the Danes won 2-1 at home.

Rangers are in the Champions League for the first time since 2010. The Croatian Antonio Colak scored the decisive goal in the 60th minute. Tom Lawrence had previously hit metal for the Scots. ÖFB legionnaire Phillipp Mwene came on in the 62nd minute for former Salzburg player Andre Ramalho.
