The Egyptian star Mohamed Salah achieved a historic record on Monday when he equaled the number of captain Steven Gerrard as the most goal scorer in the Liverpool shirt in the English Premier League, after he scored against Manchester United in the defeat that the “Reds” received away from the ground with two goals against a goal.
Salah reduced the difference in the last minutes of the second half after following a ball that bounced off Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, but that goal did not prevent Liverpool losing the exciting match, as he remained without a win after 3 rounds.
Salah reached the 120th goal in the English Premier League to equalize with former captain Steven Gerrard, the current Aston Villa coach, and reduce the difference to 8 goals with Robbie Fowler, more than he scored goals for Liverpool in the history of his participation in the competition.
Salah achieved the number in less than 6 seasons, while Gerrard needed 17 years to score the same number of goals. As for Fowler, who scored 128 times in the league, he did it during 9 seasons, the first period was between (1993-2001) and the second season 2006- 2007.
With Mohamed’s goal on Monday, he became the most Liverpool player to score 10 goals from Manchester United.
