Liverpool’s captain reveals his future after Klopp’s departure

England – The Dutchman, Virgil van Dijk, captain of the Liverpool team, confirmed that he is happy to be in the ranks of the English team, and that he will be part of the expected changes in it, when the German Jurgen Klopp leaves as coach.

Jurgen Klopp announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the current season, following a period that lasted for more than 8 years in which he won a group of titles, most notably the English Premier League and the Champions League.

While there is one year remaining in Virgil van Dijk’s contract with Liverpool, the club is expected to go through a state of turmoil, following the end of Klopp’s term.

But Van Dijk said that he is happy with the club, which will enter a new era under the leadership of his compatriot Arne Slot, the Dutch coach of Feyenoord, expressing his desire to be part of the next stage.

The Reds centre-back said: “The focus is currently on the last two matches, and following that the club will focus on who will be the new coach, and there will be a change, and I will be a part of it.”

He added: “There is nothing for me to discuss. There is no news. I think the club is very busy with who will coach the team, and this is the main focus.”

The Dutch defender continued: “Like I said, I am happy here, I love the club, and you can see this too.. It has already become a big part of my life, and that is all I can say.”

Despite reaching an agreement with Feyenoord a week ago, Liverpool is in no hurry to officially announce Slot as coach of the team.
