LIVERPOOL, Friday (26/4), has reached an agreement with Feyenoord to bring in Arne Slot as a replacement for Juergen Klopp at Anfield. This was reported by British mass media.
The Press Association reports that a compensation package for the 45-year-old coach, who still has two years remaining on his contract with Feyenoord, has been agreed.
The BBC claims the compensation package is worth £9.4 million.
Previously, Thursday (25/4), Slot emphasized that he was optimistic that he might become Liverpool coach.
“I really want to become a coach at Liverpool. Now, I am waiting to see if the two clubs can reach an agreement. I am optimistic that will happen,” Slot told reporters.
Slot joined Feyenoord in 2021 following impressing at his first club, AZ Alkmaar.

He led Feyenoord to the UEFA Conference League final in his first season, before they lost 1-0 to AS Roma in the final.
Slot then presented Feyenoord with the second Eredivisie title in 24 years last season and was rewarded with a 3-year contract extension.
Klopp will leave Liverpool at the end of this season following managing the Reds for nine years. He won the Champions League title in 2019 and the English Premier League a year later for Liverpool.

“I like the way his team plays. If he really becomes my replacement, I’m happy he wants this job,” said Klopp when asked by journalists regarding the possibility of Slot becoming Liverpool coach.
“I don’t know him but some people who know him say he’s a good person. I like that. So, a good coach and a good person. If he is that person, I’m very happy.”
“This is the best job in the world, the best club in the world,” said Klopp.
