Liverpool captain: We are all nervous and losing Salah would be a disaster

Former Liverpool captain Phil Thompson stated that everyone is watching the issue of renewing the contract of Mohamed Salah, the team’s winger, with tension, describing the failure to complete this matter as a “big disaster” for the team.

Phil Thompson told the English newspaper “Liverpool Echo”: “I think we all get nervous, we sit in our places and the tension controls us.”

He continued, “The man scores so many goals for us, performs at the highest level, and does not miss a lot of matches, and this is a very big thing.”

He added, “Some forget this, and a man never gets injured, so losing someone like him can be a great misfortune.”

He continued: “The longer it takes without renewing his contract, I think we will be nervous, but we all have to be confident that the club will take the right and appropriate action in order to sign him.”

Mohamed Salah’s contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2023, and renewal negotiations have been going on since the beginning of the current season, but no agreement has been reached yet.
