Liverpool reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League despite its defeat at Anfield once morest its Alex Reed, Inter Milan.
The English team lost 1-0 in the match that was held on Tuesday evening, ending the series of successive victories for Liverpool during this edition of the Champions League.
Liverpool failed to translate its control over the majority of the match into goals, and the post tackled two shots from Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
In the 61st minute of the match, Lautaro Martinez scored the game’s only goal with a shot from a distance of 20 yards, and two minutes later, Alexis Sanchez was sent off, which weakened the Italian team’s chances of scoring the second goal.
The match was very tense, and saw six yellow cards and a red card, and there was a complete control of the Reds, amounting to 63 percent, and their players missed many dangerous opportunities.
The first leg had witnessed two goals for Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, in Milan three weeks ago.
The draw for the quarter-finals is scheduled for March 18 in Nyon, Switzerland.
The match was stopped for a few minutes in the first half due to a medical emergency among the fans.

There was a sense of relief at Anfield and the fans breathed a sigh of relief following the match, as they continued to suffer from great anxiety during the match, especially with Inter Milan leading with a goal.
This is Jurgen Klopp’s Cubs’ first defeat in 2022, following a string of impressive results as well as winning the League Cup last month.
There are hopes of winning the Champions League, and the competition still exists with Manchester City, who top the English Premier League.
The Reds players scored 109 goals in 43 previous matches during this season, and although they did everything in this match from control and powerful shots, they failed to score.
Bayern crush Salzburg
Bayern Munich qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals following crushing its Alex Reed, Red Bull Salzburg, with seven goals to one.
Polish star Lewandowski scored three goals within 25 minutes of the match, with two penalties in the 12th and 21st minutes, then scored his third goal in the 23rd minute.
Serge Gnabry scored Bayern’s fourth goal in the 31st minute, to end the first half 4-0.
In the second half, Thomas Muller scored two goals in the 54th and 83rd minutes, then Leroy Sani finished the seven with a goal in the 85th minute.
Salzburg’s only goal was scored by Moritz Keygaard in the 70th minute.
With this result, Bayern qualified with a total of 8-2 matches, as the two teams tied positively with a goal each in the first leg.
The match witnessed complete control of Bayern with a percentage of 73 percent, and its players achieved 752 passes with an accuracy of 89 percent, while the Austrian team’s passes amounted to only 288 with a passing accuracy of 70 percent.
The match did not see any yellow or red cards.
