UKRAINIAN DEFENSE MINISTER IN PARIS TO ASK MACRON FOR PLANES
The Ukrainian Minister of Defense is expected this Tuesday in Paris, once morest the backdrop of the possibility for France to provide combat aircraft. Last night, US President Joe Biden already ruled out donating F-16s.
The French president was less closed than his German and American counterparts on this issue. “I will very simply tell you that by definition, nothing is excluded,” he said yesterday during his visit to The Hague in the Netherlands. Macron stressed, however, that such a decision would depend on several factors, including the need to avoid escalation and ensuring that the plane would not “touch Russian soil”.
A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday between Emmanuel Macron and the Ukrainian Minister of Defense. The president will receive Oleksiy Reznikov at the Elysée, the French presidency announced in a press release.
