Governor Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP) and FPÖ leader Marlene Svazek appeared less than four minutes last week on Wednesday to announce: “The talks so far have been very constructive, in a good working atmosphere and appreciative.” The two denied a crash during the negotiations. One or two points still need to be clarified – Haslauer and Svazek had nothing more to say. They left without answering a question. They wanted to demonstratively stick to the self-imposed silence. Occasionally, however, details got out, such as that the residential building, one of the largest construction sites of the black-green-pink predecessor state government, will in future be in the hands of the FPÖ (with the new state councilor Martin Zauner). Housing and spatial planning will be combined in one department in the future. Thus, the FPÖ will also be responsible for spatial planning in the country. The health department will be taken over by ÖVP regional councilor Daniela Gutschi. FPÖ leader Marlene Svazek will be responsible for nature conservation (but without a national park) and for hunting and fishing. The social department should also go to the FPÖ.
After all, the schedule to forge a black-blue coalition by the end of May has been kept. Negotiations on the content and allocation of departments ended on Wednesday, and on Thursday evening the party committees gave the green light for the coalition pact for the years 2023 to 2028. The new state government will present itself in terms of personnel and content on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Chiemseehof. Follow the presentation in the live stream.
