LIVE – Pension reform: EDF agents lower electricity production in protest

BLACK THURSDAY IN TRANSPORT

Traffic will be “very disrupted” in the Paris metro, with three lines closed, ten others open “only at peak times” and a “risk of saturation” on the last three. On RER A and B – the two busiest lines in Europe – traffic will be limited to one train out of two at most during peak hours, while disruption will be more limited in buses (2 out of 3) and trams (3 out of 4).

At SNCF, train traffic will be “very disrupted”, especially in regional trains – TER and Transilien. The company plans 1 out of 3 TGVs on the North axis, 1 out of 4 on the East, 1 out of 5 on the Atlantic, 1 out of 3 on the South-East and 1 out of 3 for Ouigo. But also 1 TER train out of 10 on average, and in Ile-de-France 1 train out of 3 on lines A, B, H and U, and 1 train out of 10 on lines C and D (partly closed), J, K, L, N and P.

The strike will also be followed by air traffic controllers, in particular at Orly airport where the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) has asked companies to preventively cancel 20% of their flights, while warning that this would not prevent “disruptions and delays”.
