President peter castle participates from noon in a Decentralized Council of Ministers in the Cusco, convened in an attempt by the Government to calm the protests and avoid new stoppages in the region. The head of the Cabinet, Aníbal Torres, several congressmen and other ministers are also present at the meeting, marked by various incidents, claims and blunders.

This week the strike of farmers, transporters and other unions of Cusco in protest, mainly, to the high cost of living harmed thousands of tourists, generating losses of S/10 million daily, according to Canatur.

According to the Government Palace, the objective of the meeting will be “to listen to the demands of the population and to solve various social problems that afflict the Cusco region.” Topics related to the agricultural, tourism, mining, education and health sectors, among others, will be discussed.

This is the VI meeting of the Cabinet outside of Lima. The government also announced a Decentralized Council of Ministers in Kuelap.

President Castillo: “Soon we will hold a Decentralized Council in Kuelap itself”

The previous session took place in Huancayo and was marked by questions from the leaders of the president himself and various government promises. Right at that meeting, the head of the Ministerial Cabinet praised the genocidal Adolf Hitler.

The general of the VII Macro Police Region of CuscoPedro Villanueva reported that more than 1,200 police officers will be in charge of security. The session will be held at the Coliseum – Youth House. “YWhen the Government Palace advanced arrived, we are going to establish the routes of the places where the different activities will be carried out”, he added on Thursday.

According to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, national, regional and local authorities will participate, as well as congressmen and social leaders. In addition, he pointed out that “the Territorial Development Agenda of the region will be worked on and the closing of inequality gaps in favor of the Cusco population will be achieved.”

The Minister of Culture, Alejandro Salas, who is already in Cusco along with other members of the Cabinet, indicated that the president will present the government’s policies related to the region this Friday.
