Live in the Arena Vienna – Kruder & Dorfmeister: Viennese on the world stage

In retrospect, of course, the work fits very well into the band’s oeuvre, because “1995” is above all a reflection on a time when everything seemed much simpler. At that time, the two of them composed in proper style on an Atari between the studio and the living room. But there weren’t yet the many opportunities to go viral online with this way of working, as happens to every second pop star today. The younger generation often fails to appreciate that at the band’s peak in the 90s artists such as David Bowie, Madonna and Depeche Mode scrambled for their remixes. Bowie’s “I’m Afraid Of Americans” request didn’t pass Kruder and Dorfmeister’s quality control. With their label G-Stone Recordings, the two opened up a playground for the diverse trip-hop, downbeat, electronic and drum-bass scene.
