Litzy confirms romance with chef Poncho Cadena: “I won the grand prize of MasterChef”

After weeks of being surrounded by rumors about her love life, Litzy confirmed that she is in a relationship with chef Poncho Cadena. The singer did not go into details about her new love story, however, she assured that they started dating after she was eliminated from the program where they worked together: ‘MasterChef Celebrity Mexico 2024’.

The interpreter of ‘Quisiera ser mayor’ or ‘No te extraño’ attended the Pinky Promise program as a special guest with her friend and winner of the gastronomic reality show, Rossana Nájera. It was during the question and answer round where she broke the silence about the rumors that exist around her closeness with the critic of the program and confirmed that they are currently in a romantic relationship.

“Yes, it’s true. I found love. It was obviously after MasterChef.”

Litzy said that she met chef Poncho in the kitchens of the reality show, but they did not live together outside the program until she was eliminated from the competition a week before the grand finale.

“We couldn’t spend much time with the chefs because it’s not possible, actually, by contract they can’t spend time with us or give us advice or classes or anything like that. So, obviously there was no direct contact, we didn’t eat together or talk or anything until I left the program,” she said.

The singer did not reveal how her relationship with the chef began, however, she hinted that she is very much in love with him.

“We started to get in touch, we started talking and we started dating and that’s it, everything is incredible. I’m very happy, he’s also a beautiful human being, he’s a great professional, what he does is incredible, he’s been working for 30 years and I admire him very much, he does spectacular things.”

At that moment, Rossana Nájera intervened to share a comment for her friend’s happiness: “I think life brought you to MasterChef not only to cook well, but maybe to find love.”

And Litzy closed the topic with laughter: “I won the jackpot.”

Alfonso Cadena Rubio, better known in the national artistic and gastronomic world as Poncho, was born in 1972 in Hermosillo, Sonora, and is considered one of the most important chefs in Mexico. He is the son of businessman Ignacio Cadena, who stood out in the restaurant and hotel industry in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

Poncho Cadena studied Graphic Design at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and Gastronomy at Pacific Culinary Arts in Canada.
