THE SPIRIT of this year’s Moose Games is even hotter, especially with the extraordinary performance of Ygritte Gara, an 8-year-old student from the CIKAL Lebak Bulus School who represented the Gavrilla Gymnastics Club.

The Bangkok Gymnastics Invitational, or what is known as the Moose Game, is an annual invitational gymnastics championship that is an arena for young talents from various countries. This year, 1600 young gymnasts from 11 countries such as Japan, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia gathered in high spirits.

Despite her young age, Ygritte has strong determination, especially in her favorite sports, swimming and gymnastics. His hard training routine every day after school, including weekends, really paid off.

This championship was a sweet moment for Ygritte because she managed to win three gold medals from the four categories she competed in, namely Bars, Beam, Floor and Vault.

“The competition was really cool; hopefully Indonesia can also hold an event of this magnitude where friends from many countries can participate,” said Ygritte at the Thai Canadian Community Sports Gymnasium.

It is hoped that Ygritte’s success at the prestigious Moose Games will not only bring pride to herself and her club. But it is also an inspiration for the entire gymnastics ecosystem, including clubs, athletes and the government, to always be better. (Z-8)
