Javier Milei’s first visit to Conurbano in candidate mode 2023 did not have the expected event. On a cold Friday night in the field of El Porvenir, in Gerli (Lanús), the libertarian deputy closed an act very late that had generated expectations throughout the week.
Less than 1,500 people witnessed Milei’s speech, which took longer than expected and took place following 9 p.m., following a brief recital by the cumbia singer “El Dipy”, a personal friend of the leader.
As he usually does in each of his presentations, Milei gave those present a “talk on economics”, in which he once once more focused on the criticism he calls “political caste”. And in which he also left personal feelings.
Before that, he did a kind of “concentration” prior to a soccer game in the locker room of El Porvenir, a club that plays in Primera D, and left there to mingle with the public present. He accompanied him, as always at this time, his main political sword, the Buenos Aires legislator and financial youtuber Ramiro Marra.
“I got into the swamp of politics to transform Argentina in a power. Not to sink into misery”, was one of the expressions that Milei left during her visit to El Porvenir.
In addition, he maintained: “We get involved to take power from them and give it back to the people.” “They defame us to keep their privileges. It’s us once morest everyone, the jet-setting politicians, prebendary businessmen, journalists in envelopes and trans unionists,” she pointed out harshly.
He also differed from the rest of the politicians at one point. “We don’t need a focus group. We do it out of conviction and moral values,” he said, referring in part to the interest of the political class in the polls.
Precisely, Milei’s act took place in the same week that a survey was released that for the first time shows it in low compared to positive image and with the growing negative. Constantly on the rise following the 2021 legislative elections that led him to become a deputy, Milei’s figure seems to have weakened following he promoted a series of debates around the possibility of opening the organ market and ensuring the free carrying of organs. weapons.

In addition, Milei spoke of “a historic opportunity to defeat the caste and put the country on its feet. Let’s recognize the enemy that is the caste.” And she concluded: “I never said this was going to be easy. I didn’t get in to lead lambs. I got in to wake up lions.”
Among those attending the libertarian meeting were Buenos Aires deputies Oscar Zago and Lucía Montenegro; the national deputy, Victoria Villarruel; the Riojan legislator, Martín Menem; the referent, Carlos Maslaton; the advisor, Carlos Kikuchi; and numerous provincial and municipal references. Also called attention was the presence of the deputy from the province of Buenos Aires Nahuel Sotelo, who had been elected by the third section in 2021 by José Luis Espert’s list.
A good part of the genuine Milei militants arrived at Gerli, who traveled by bus from Retiro. It is a group called “Avanzan los Aliados”, which to contrast with the traditional mobilizations that are carried out from the different sectors of politics, paid for their ticket, round trip, at a cost of $500.
“Avanzan los Aliados” is a group of young libertarians who called themselves from Twitter under the slogan #ElBondiDeLosAliados. They clarified, in the message they transmitted on social networks, that “each passenger will pay their ticket” and that the activity “did not involve public funds” and was financed by the same members of the group with the aim of showing their support for Milei.
