An unclear photo and a copy of an email have put the spotlight back on one of the most controversial and mysterious episodes of last year. The image, which in recent days on social media is attracting the attention of a very high number of users, portrays what appears to be a cylindrical or circular UFO, filmed in Canadian skies shortly before being shot down by a US fighter in February 2023 , at the time of the Chinese spy ball scandal, which had increased the risk of an international crisis.

The object was initially spotted in Alaska, but then crossed into Canadian airspace, triggering the Norad alarm and moving the jets. The demolition, only declared but not demonstrable because there is still no news of the wreckage, was only one of the three operations. First, in fact, there was the elimination of a Chinese spy balloon that had crossed the United States undisturbed.

A simple coincidence or small part of a more complex plot? The president of the United States, Joe Biden, was very clear at the time and dispelled any doubts: “No relation between the events”, he said, referring to the other objects intercepted in those days. The photo, published by the Canadian network CTVNews, however contributes to raising new questions. The image shows a semicircle, white and darker on the outside. The intercepted experts speak of a “small metal balloon with a useful load in tow”, we read in an article in La Repubblica.
