Little Anaïs, 9, kidnapped in Auxerre, found shot dead with her mother in the Marne

The drama was tied this Monday, April 4 around 5:30 p.m. in a caravan near Loisy-sur-Marne when the police were regarding to intervene. The father was taken into custody.

A few weeks following her abduction, Anaïs, 9, was found dead, shot in the head alongside her mother, Nathalie Lerouge, 47, also deceased.

The two victims were shot dead in a caravan, this Monday, April 4 around 5:30 p.m. near Loisy-sur-Marne in the Marne, as reported France 3.

Kidnapping at McDonald’s

The girl who had been taken care of by child welfare and who lived in a home in Auxerre, had eaten in a McDonald’s on February 10 with an educator when the little girl was kidnapped.

Indeed, the parents physically attacked the educational assistant and kidnapped their daughter in the parking lot of the fast food restaurant in Auxerre, as reported Republican Yonne.

Investigators ready to intervene

Since then, the PJ police officers from Auxerre have been trying to find her. They had spotted where the family was, but when they intervened in the Marne, this Monday, April 4, they heard gunshots.

Inside two bodies lay, that of the little girl and that of her mother. The girl’s 47-year-old father was arrested at the scene. He was taken into custody.

An investigation for “spousal homicide and homicide of a 15-year-old minor” has been opened.

The girl had already been “on the run”

The little girl had already been kidnapped by her parents in May 2019 until November 2021 when the parents were arrested at a motorway rest area near Aurillac in Cantal.

During this “run”, the little girl had not been to school, she had been found in a deplorable state of hygiene, showing malnutrition and a lack of care.

She was then handed over to child welfare

Anaïs’ parents were known to belong to a survivalist movement.
