“Lithuania sends Ukraine technologies that help in the modern battlefield. It is important to understand that today’s warfare requires modern technologies such as anti-drones or other modern equipment. And the generators are handed over thinking about the inexorably approaching winter, which will apparently be difficult,” says Minister Arvydas Anušauskas.
According to the head of the Ukrainian army, General Valery Zaluzhno, his country, which is fighting the Russian invasion, is in dire need of advanced drone technology, electronic warfare capabilities and equipment for demining.
According to the ministry, this year Lithuania has already handed over Mi-8 helicopters, L-70 anti-aircraft guns with ammunition, M113 armored personnel carriers, millions of rounds of ammunition, grenade launcher ammunition, radar equipment sets and a lot of other support to Ukraine.
Lithuania also trains Ukrainian soldiers, provides treatment and rehabilitation to Ukrainians, organizes expert consultations, allocates funds to international funds for support of Ukraine.
Lithuania has also drawn up a long-term support plan for Ukraine – a new 200 million is planned for the years 2024-2026. EUR military support package for Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the total package of Lithuania’s already provided support to Ukraine amounts to more than one billion euros or more than 1.2 percent. GDP, half of this amount is military support.
