Lithuania commented on the report of an attack on Belarus

Speaking at the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, the head of the Belarusian KGB, Ivan Tertel, said that the State Security Committee, in cooperation with colleagues from other law enforcement agencies, carried out “a number of acute measures”, which made it possible to prevent attacks by combat drones. The strikes were to be carried out from Lithuanian territory against targets in Minsk and its suburbs.

He also said that radicals in Lithuania and Poland are producing drones to attack critical targets in Belarus.

The representative of the Department of Strategic Communications of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, Major Gintautas Ciunis, denied these reports.

“I can say 100 percent that this is disinformation. It’s nonsense that Lithuania will launch a drone strike on Belarus, I can’t find another word,” he said LRT.lt.

He noted that such statements from Belarus “only make me smile.”

The representative of the commander of the Lithuanian armed forces, Zivile Didzgalvene, also denied the information disseminated by Minsk.

“Hostile information activities are characterized by the spread of misinformation and false accusations. The Lithuanian Armed Forces have not taken and are not taking any hostile actions against other countries,” said Z. Didzgalvene.
