Lisa Loring, the actress who was Merlina in the series Los locos Addams, died

The actress passed away from complications of a stroke caused by high blood pressure. She was 64 years old.

Lisa Loring, actress who gave life to Merlina (Wednesday) in the first version of the popular television series the mad addams died at age 64reported this Monday The Hollywood Reporter.

Loring died Saturday night at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, from complications of a stroke caused by high blood pressure, her daughter Vanessa Foumberg told the specialized magazine.

Famous as the first Merlina Addams in the original version of the television series, she also played Wednesday in the 1977 made-for-TV movie titled Halloween with the New Addams Family and had a role in the soap opera As the World Turns.

Lisa went at peace with her two daughters (Vanessa and Marianne) holding hands, her daughter Vanessa said after the death.

Laurie Jacobson, an actress very close to Loring, was the first to break the sad news, uploading it to her Facebook.

“It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 days ago she suffered a massive stroke caused by smoking and high blood pressure. She has been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday her family made the difficult decision to take it off and last night he passed away,” the publication states.

And the legacy to her family and friends: a great many of humor, affection and love that will remain in our memories for a long time. Rest in peace, Lisa. Damn, girl … you were so much fun,” Jacobson said goodbye.

His life

Born Lisa Ann DeCinces on February 16, 1958, in the Marshall Islands, Loring’s parents divorced when she was very young, and she went to live in Los Angeles with her mother. She received the stage name of Lisa Loring and began modeling at the age of 3. Her first television appearance of hers was in 1964 in an episode of the NBC medical drama Dr. Kildare.

Later, in a casting, she won the role that would make her famous in Los locos Addams, on ABC. It was the television adaptation with actors produced by Metro Goldwyn Mayer of the cartoons of The New Yorkerby Charles Addams. Loring began working on the comedy series, whose episodes lasted, as you may recall, a half hour, at age 5 1/2, revealing in later interviews that she “learned to memorize before she could read” in order to say her lines of dialogue.

At fan conventions and in various interviews, Loring spoke fondly of his time working on The Addams Family. “It was like a royal family – you couldn’t have chosen a better cast and crew,” the actress revealed in a 2017 YouTube interview, conducted at the Monsterpalooza convention. “Carolyn Jones, John Astin, who was Homer and Morticia, they were like parents to me. They were great.”

In 1973, when she was just 15 years old, she married her childhood sweetheart, Farrell Foumberg. The following year, she had her first child. Almost immediately her mother Judith died of chronic alcoholism, at age 34.

With Loring’s death, John Astin is the last surviving member of the original cast of the mad addams.

Although she played the character for only two years, she set the tone for subsequent iterations of the role, which has been brought back into popularity thanks to the hit television series Merlinwhich is currently broadcast by Netflix and where the role is played by Jenna Ortegawho recreates a famous Loring dance.
