An employee of a business in Massachusetts, United States, has been formally charged with attempting to cash in a winning lottery ticket worth $3 million forgotten by a customer.

Carly Nunes, who works in a liquor store, drew suspicion from colleagues when they saw her trying to validate the ticket which was in very poor condition.

Some also heard the 23-year-old arguing with her boyfriend over how they were going to split the money. The exchange was also captured by a trade surveillance camera.
