In terms of energy consumption of Tunisian households, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is the most important source of energy for the Tunisian family with a rate of 43%, ahead of electricity for 32% and natural gas for 24%, according to a survey by the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG), revealed on Sunday.
The main government body managing this sector in Tunisia, STEG indicated that this survey, carried out from November 2019 to March 2020, showed a certain decline in the electrical power consumed in the country, i.e. from 61 to 47 kw per year.
“The results of the survey on energy consumption in households will allow us to guide demand, particularly in terms of programming the construction of power plants,” said Jomaa Souissi, central director of strategy and planning at STEG, Jomaa Souissi.
