Lions confirm progress in Kukulcan

The starting pitching once again played an important role for the Lions last night.

At least in the first five innings he pitched, Venezuelan left-hander Félix Doubront did his job on the mound of the “Víctor Cervera Pacheco” Stadium in Kanasín, but as has happened with his teammates in the rotation, he was left without support.

A home run by José Marmolejo was the only thing they did to him in five innings, but in that span the long-haired team connected only two hits, the same “support” they gave to César Valdez in game three, on Monday.

He was hit out in the sixth, after allowing two hits, and the Devils scored a run on their account, now against the shots of Francisco Haro.

The fans did not have a happy reaction when “El Chapo” went to ask for the ball. Much less when the strategist went up to remove Francisco Haro, who allowed one run in one and a third innings, but was controlling the situation against the red attack.

Last night, although the stadium was not full, there were moments when the cheers of both teams appeared. The Infernals have fans wherever they go and the “Let’s go Diablos, let’s go Diablos” was heard from the first reel. As the game progressed, the home team’s harangues appeared with the same phrase: “Let’s go Leones, let’s go Leones”, and then it was a duel from the stands.

Visit to Kukulcan

On another note, yesterday the owners of the Leones, Juan José and Erick Arellano Hernández, paid a visit to the Kukulcán Park, where renovation work continues, in order to leave it ready for the 2025 campaign.

In a statement, the Lions reported that Mazatlan businessmen toured the project, which is being built with a federal investment of 500 million pesos.

The report from the long-haired guys yesterday indicates the following: “According to the most recent data, issued during the ‘La Mañanera’ Conference on July 29, Blas Andrés Núñez Jordán, head of the Sedena’s Maya Train Operations Coordination Center, reported that the progress of the work is 36.70 percent, and work is being done at forced marches to inaugurate it on September 30.”— Gaspar Silveira
