A 47-year-old from Linz walked 22 kilometers home to his girlfriend on Thursday night following a traffic accident in which he crashed his car. Only from there did he go to the hospital for outpatient treatment, the police reported.
The man got off the road around 10:00 p.m. in Alberndorf (Urfahr-Surroundings district). The car overturned, hit a delineator post and two trees, fell over an embankment and came to rest on the roof. The driver was able to free himself from the totally destroyed car.
He did not report the accident to the police, nor did he call an ambulance. Instead, he made his way home on foot. From there he drove to the hospital. It was not known how serious his injuries are. His girlfriend reported the accident to the police in the morning.
