The 19-year-old Kamenschak, this year silver medalist at the U20 European Championships in the 1,500 m and third in the 5,000 m, was happy regarding an “incredible race”. The Austrian fans made a big contribution to this. “The Stockerlplatz is a huge honor. My goal was to become the best Austrian. That’s what I achieved. I beat Andreas Vojta for the first time, that’s also a great honor.”

Vojta, who came third last year, came fifth (19:21.94), was satisfied with the marathon distance and declared that he saw Kamenschak as a successor to Günther Weidlinger, who still holds numerous ÖLV records in the general class.
