Linz school start package: 4713 applications have been approved so far

Supporting families in times of rising living costs is the goal of the city of Linz School start package wants to do justice.

The package supports Linz students up to the 5th grade – after the application has been approved, parents receive print@home vouchers that can be converted into Linzer City Ring vouchers worth 100 euros each.

The city of Linz announced today that 4,713 such applications had been approved by the end of October. The funding volume of a total of 560,000 euros was therefore 84 percent utilized.

Necessary social support

“The school star package as part of the city’s anti-inflation package ensures that families receive the necessary social support. Targeted social support accurately helps the population of Linz to overcome the challenges of inflation,” says Mayor Klaus Luger (SP) about the necessity and sense of the measure convinced. Finance officer Vice Mayor Tina Blöchl (also SP) also sees this as promoting “equal opportunities for children”.

“So that the money gets where it should go, namely into the wallets of Linz families who can be proven to be eligible for support, I would like to mention that the redemption period for the print@home vouchers ends on January 31, 2024. Until then, all families who have received a voucher are called upon to redeem it for cash vouchers at the designated Linz City Ring locations,” informs municipal director Ulrike Huemer.

Vouchers must be redeemed by January 31st

The application deadline for the school starter package ended a few days ago on October 31st; all applicants who were selected for a sample review can submit the required evidence up to and including November 19th.

Once the application has been approved, applicants will receive a print@home voucher (individual QR code), which can be exchanged for a cash voucher at the Linz City Ring office or at the Linz City Ring voucher machines until January 31, 2024. print@home vouchers that are not redeemed by January 31, 2024 will no longer be valid.
