Lindner now flies line
Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) has been in the USA since Tuesday and is a guest at the important annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
It was supposed to be heading back to Berlin on Friday – with a short stopover in Toronto, Canada.
But the minister’s return trip has been delayed!
► Reason is a plane breakdown: The Airbus of the flight readiness had to stay on the ground because of damage. Lindner was therefore stranded with his delegation at the airport on Friday followingnoon.
Bad for the minister: He still has an appointment on Sunday and urgently needs to go to Berlin. The arrival of the Bundeswehr replacement machine will last at least until Saturday morning, they say.
But Lindner doesn’t want to risk it and is pragmatic: Instead of being ready to fly, he’s now flying on a scheduled flight!
