MP tells opposition parties the importance of AMA marketing
Vienna (OTS) – Many countries envy us for it, more than 90 percent of Austrians know it, and everyone benefits from it. The AMA quality seal program guarantees 100% local quality on our plates, like no other quality seal. The application is handled by AMA Marketing and this was the occasion for a debate in the plenary session of the National Council. For MP Klaus Lindinger it is clear: “With the triple A, namely born in Austria, raised in Austria and slaughtered in Austria, the AMA seal of approval guarantees Austrian origin, high quality, independent control and added value for rural areas!”
Liberals and Social Democrats in particular used the plenary debate to criticize AMA marketing or even to demand its abolition. “However, they didn’t mention that the AMA seal of approval brings an added value of 60 to 70 million euros per year for our farms and that it is the only one of over one hundred seals of approval in Austria that is controlled by an independent body,” says Lindinger of 60 on-site checks per day.
As far as AMA marketing is concerned, Lindinger once once more put the facts on the table: while the three largest grocers in Austria have a total budget of 500 million euros at their disposal, AMA marketing manages with a budget of 9.2 million euros . “Small budget – big effect”, Lindinger refers to the valuable services for agriculture, consumers and the important work for more transparency and traceability. “Let’s continue to develop this reliable red-white-red quality mark when shopping for groceries and secure it in the long term,” says Lindinger.
