Linda de Mol (60) returns to RTL for a one-off project. She says this in conversation with RTL Boulevard. There have been rumors for some time that she will make a permanent switch to the channel. “That’s not right,” she responds. “In principle I have a contract with SBS6, (…) but we think that this program suits the RTL viewer best, so I am being loaned out,” she laughs.

The format, which Linda came up with herself, is called Brilliant Brains and combines a tough quiz with a reality element. “A bunch of good students – who have a very good memory – are going to move into a kind of campus together. A very nice location. (…) They are going to learn and study all kinds of things together as a team and they will get all kinds of things there. testing. Ultimately, the most brilliant brain emerges,” Linda explains. The winner will receive a substantial amount of money as a gift. “I think it’s funny that the reality cameras are focused on very intelligent people. Usually the reality cameras are on people with a six-pack,” she jokes.

Linda is really looking forward to this new challenge. Especially because her career has stood still for a while due to her private life. “I really enjoy my work. I always work with permanent people. (…) I also really enjoy being able to do this for RTL again, that this is possible. (…) That these kinds of collaborations are possible, that is already proven Gooische Vrouwen. Chantal Janzen was also allowed to do the Eurovision Song Contest, which is not for RTL.” Yet she also finds it very exciting to present a new program. “Because you never know whether it will catch on.”
