Attention reality TV fans: The first season of the dating show “First Dates – Znacht für Zwei” starts on Wednesday on the Oneplus streaming site. Singles from all over Switzerland meet for a blind date in the restaurant – where Tiktokerin Lina Senn (24) is waiting for them. As a waitress, the influencer accompanies the singles through the evening.

“I spontaneously decided to take part in the show,” says Lina to 20 minutes. The social media expert works for the company responsible for the program anyway and was finally asked if she would like to take part herself. “I’m very open to new adventures and I’ve always wanted to do a show. First Dates is a perfect match for me and that’s why I accepted without hesitation.”

However, she has no experience in service: “I’ve never waited tables and if you look closely, you can see that on the show too,” says the 24-year-old with a laugh. Not dropping anything and balancing the tablets was a big challenge for her. “I was afraid I’d spoil the singles’ first date!”

Walk as a perfect first date

The Zurich woman goes on to say that she herself has not been on many dates. “While I really enjoy meeting new people, I’m not a fan of directly calling a meeting a date. That makes me nervous, builds up pressure and gives me the feeling of having to meet countless demands.”

Should it still happen, the Tiktokerin imagines a perfect first date like this: “I think a walk is great. If there’s an awkward silence, you can just talk about the people and places you’re passing.” She adds: “In addition, you can’t just run away in a restaurant or in the cinema if it gets weird.”

Among the few dates of the 24-year-old there was also an unpleasant experience: “I once made an appointment with a friend who I thought was gay – but apparently it was a date for him,” says Lina. After all, she had to clear up the misunderstanding and dump him. “It was incredibly uncomfortable!”

Mobile phone as a no-go on the first date

For the singles who take part in “First Dates – Znacht zu Zweit”, the Tiktokerin has a few tips in store. So she finds: «An absolute no-go is to be constantly on the cell phone, only to talk about yourself and not to respond to the other person. Likewise, not asking the other person questions, being inattentive and not even bothering to get to know the other person properly. »

Instead, the singles should focus on authenticity: “I think it’s important to be yourself, not to pretend and not to try to show yourself from the very best side. That looks fake,” says Lina. Her dating tip is therefore: “Be open and stay true to yourself. And don’t worry too much – if it’s supposed to be, it’ll be fine.”

“The way to a man’s heart goes through his stomach”

The 24-year-old hasn’t had a “first date” for a long time. She has been dating her boyfriend, Tiktoker Leonard Khalifa since March 2020. “I’m very happy with my love life,” said the woman from Zurich. She met her boyfriend via Tiktok and met her for the first time during the first lockdown. «He invited me to his house and we walked through the village where he lived at the time. For me that was perfect because I’m not a fan of going out to restaurants on the first date anyway.”

Even now, the two social media stars still go out regularly: “We try to go on a real date every two weeks,” says Lina. This is sometimes difficult to implement, since both work a lot and are very active on social media. But: “I think it’s nice when you don’t just sit around at home but keep the relationship fresh,” says Lina. And what does a classic date between the two look like? “In the summer we often go swimming or play mini-golf. Otherwise, we like to go out to eat together, because, as is well known, love goes through the stomach.”
