Lin Fenying, the head of Taixi Township, Yunlin County, and her husband Ding Wenbin were suspected of demanding NT$6.8 million in bribes from the solar panel industry. Fenying and his wife and the white-gloved man surnamed Lin are suspected of seriousness and there is a risk of collusion, and today they applied to the court for detention and interrogation.
In an interview with the media today, Wu Wencheng, the chief prosecutor of the Yunlin Land Procuratorate, pointed out that the prosecutors were told that Lin Fenying and his wife applied for the right of way through the forest belt and the road excavation permit for the overhead poles through the solar photovoltaic system manufacturer as a consideration. The man surnamed received NT$6.8 million in bribes from the business. Cai Shaoxun, the prosecutor of Yunlin District Procuratorate, commanded the Changhua County Investigation Station, Yunlin County Investigation Station and the Central Region Mobile Workstation of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau to form a special team. Lin Fenying’s home, Taixi Township Office and other places seized NT$1.7 million, account books and other items at the scene.
Lin Fenying and his wife denied being involved in the case, claiming that the cash seized at the scene was the decoration fee for the new home, while the white-glove man surnamed Lin and the manufacturer surnamed Shen confessed to being involved in the case. The prosecution suspects the statement of Lin Fenying and his wife, because they have huge financial transactions, and the source of the money needs to be clarified. The prosecution believes that four persons including Lin Fenying, Ding Wenbin, a manufacturer surnamed Shen and a man surnamed Lin in white gloves are suspected of embezzlement, unknown source of property of civil servants, and breach of trust. Fear of annihilating evidence, I applied to the court today for a detention ban. The court ruled that Lin Fenying and his wife and the man surnamed Lin were detained and banned from seeing each other, while the man surnamed Shen paid 200,000 yuan on bail.
