The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported that Lima was considered the second best city in South America and the third in Latin America for the development of meeting tourism, due to its ability to host top-level events.

This recognition was given following the International Association of Congresses and Conventions (ICCA) has published the world ranking of the meetings industry.

According to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Juan Carlos Mathews, this is excellent news that will allow Peru to be positioned among the main destinations for conferences, congresses and meetings of world importance.

“The meetings industry continues to take on great relevance in the economies of the world. This distinction obliges us to continue articulating efforts to climb positions and also locate other cities in our country, such as Cusco and Arequipa, for example, within the main venues for holding international events,” said the minister.
