  • Lily Rose Depp (23) repeatedly doubts her professional skills.

  • Because of her world-famous parents, Johnny Depp (59) and Vanessa Paradis (50), she suffers from impostor syndrome, as she reveals in an interview with the magazine “iD”.

  • But it is precisely the constant fear of not being enough that spurs her on.

As a child of Hollywood star Johnny Depp (59) and model Vanessa Paradis (50), a certain fame is already in the cradle. But being a “Nepo baby” – a child of celebrities – can also mean a great burden. Lily Rose Depp reveals this in an interview with the magazine “iD”.

The 23-year-old reveals that she suffers from to always be “the daughter of…”. Because of her parents, she suffers from what is known as imposter syndrome. This is massive self-doubt regarding one’s own professional performance.

First leading role in «The Idol»

This year, Lily Rose stars in her first starring role on the TV series The Idol, which might herald her big break as an actress. So far she was more noticed by her modeling jobs – especially at Chanel. Evil tongues then speculated whether she only got this engagement because her mother once stood in front of the camera for the luxury brand.

So it’s no wonder that Lily Rose questions her own talent and whether she deserves to have been chosen for such a job. “You just have to go into it and somehow believe that hopefully I was chosen for a reason,” Lily Rose said in an interview.

But it is precisely the constant fear of not being enough that spurs her on. “I don’t think there’s anything more exciting than saying, ‘Wow, I’m so nervous. I feel so challenged by this thing. How on earth am I supposed to do that?’ You mightn’t ask for better fuel to work really hard.”

All eyes are on her

The aspiring actress was aware early on that she mightn’t afford to make any public mistakes because she was constantly being watched. “If I leave the house and look shitty and someone takes a picture, it’s like, ‘She looks shitty, she must be depressed’,” she says, explaining her frustration with other people’s opinions.

Still have Johnny Depp’s daughter found her own way to deal with all the stares and attentions she received as a child. “At the end of the day, everyone cares more regarding themselves than you. I get myself down to earth and say, ‘Girl, you don’t matter that much.’ That’s the only way to deal with it.”
