To be ready to host the basketball group stages and the handball qualifiers, the Pierre Mauroy stadium has been transformed since June 7. Up to 400 people take turns seven days a week, 24 hours a day, to transform the football stadium into an Olympic arena. The people of Lille are expecting a massive influx of supporters this summer: 1.4 million people are expected over the Olympic fortnight.
