Description
“Like Medea!” they say But who was Medea? Yes I know!
Known for so many centuries now for those days when she was a refugee in Corinth, when Jason abandoned her and she, to avenge him, kills their two children. The earlier events of her life are perhaps few and far between known. They almost all fit into the narrative of the Argonaut Campaign, which means that they have to do with Jason’s own plans and the help that Medea offered him. She is his helper, his shield of protection.
But what are her own thoughts? What are her dreams?
A woman who takes on the guise of a satanic witch to serve her lover and who then stains her hands with the blood of her children to avenge the betrayer of her love.
Infanticide for reasons of love revenge.
I was not convinced by this interpretation.
And so I decided to reread an old story and then write the novel of a somewhat different woman.
Like Medea, then, and its title.
