Today (Sunday) Lihya Raz finished her journey in floor gymnastics in an impressive way and almost managed to qualify for the final of the competition, but settled for 31st place overall, after the long day of competitions in Paris.

The Israeli gymnast should have finished among the last 24, but as mentioned right in the last round she lost the chance to do so. However, she is ranked 25th in the race for the final, where if someone retires or gets injured, she will take the place in her place. The rules of the competition are that each country can send no more than two representatives, so Raz’s place in the general ranking is different from her place in the race for the final.

Raz showed good exercises in the qualifiers. She scored 12.833 on the graded parallels exercise. She scored 12.300 on beam, 12.833 on floor and 13.666 on vault. In total she received 51.632 points. Raz was ranked 16th in the vault exercise, 33rd in the floor, 50th in the parallel bars and 55th in the beam.

Raz is the first Israeli from the sport to compete twice in the Olympic Games, after setting a record when she finished in eighth place in the final of the World Championships in jumping and was even the first Israeli to stand on the podium at the European Championships after winning the bronze medal in the floor exercise.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo, she was only 17 years old and finished in 59th place in a fierce battle, when no one expected her to impress at her young age. This time, as mentioned, she has already significantly improved her ability.
