Orlando Calls for Transparency, While Bucci Defends His Approach
Genoa remains locked in debate following a heated exchange during the Liguria Regional Council session on December 3rd. Tension rose when former Minister Andrea Orlando, a Democratic Party member of the regional council, challenged Governor Marco Bucci about public healthcare waiting lists.
“You cannot pass off the idea that the opposition is aware of a plan to cut waiting lists if this is not true,” Orlando asserted during a press conference. “This is the fundamental point.”

However, Regional Council President Stefano Balleari cut short his speech, explaining that a discussion on the governor’s program was not scheduled for that day. The matter, Balleari declared, would be addressed in the next session.
“You are everyone’s president, not Bucci’s president,” Orlando retorted to Balleari as he left the chamber, highlighting his frustration at the stifled opposition voice.
