Ligue 2: GF38 loses to Saint-Étienne at the Stade des Alpes in front of 15,000 supporters

The GF38 did not confirm after its victory against Annecy last Saturday. Tuesday April 23, Grenoblois lost 2 to 0 at the Stade des Alpes against Saint-Étienne in Ligue 2. They collapsed in the last ten minutes of this match counting for the 34th day of the championship and are 11th in Ligue 2.

Yet, the GF38 made a strong start to the match. More enterprising and more pressing, the Grenoblois pushed the Saint-Etienne defense into error and, on a ball recovered high in the 12th minute, Pape Meissa Ba missed his one-on-one against Gautier Larsonneur. If at first ASSE did not appear very dangerous, only shooting once in thirty minutes, the Stéphanois players caused a first thrill in the Stade des Alpes in the 36th minute with a ball lying around in the area following a corner. Aïmen Moueffek takes it back but Brice Maubleu watches and stops the ball without difficulty.

Two long impassable guardians

Just before half-time, GF38 won a corner which Loïc Nestor headed home. It takes a huge tap from Larsonneur to prevent Grenoblois from opening the score. Upon returning from the locker room, the match is more unbridled with two teams who do not hesitate to intensify their duels and engage in counterattacks. In the 56th minute, the Greens recovered the ball near the Grenoble area. Nathanaël Mbuku is well served and finds himself in a duel with Maubleu who stops the ball magnificently with his legs.

Unfortunately, Grenoble suffered at the end of the match and suffered a corner in the 80th minute. Batubinsika heads the ball back and Brice Maubleu can do nothing. The Stéphanois hit the nail on the head in the 87th minute with a goal from Dylan Chambost. After this defeat, GF38 is 11th in Ligue 2.
