Troyes – Lille : 1-1
The Lille supporters came for all the emotions on Saturday in Troyes: the stress at the start of a decisive meeting for the Europa League (C3), the doubt at the end of a too timid first period, marked by the only attempts by Benjamin André (10th) and André Gomes (34th). The jubilation following the opener from Bafodé Diakité (1-0, 52nd), well served by Jonathan Bamba, then the disillusion in the wake of the equalizer from Rony Lopes, the former darling of the Stade Pierre Mauroy (1- 1, 72nd).
In the end, Lille foiled and broke their teeth on a compact block from Troyes (1-1). Paulo Fonseca’s players miss the mark and finish the season in 5th place, still qualifying for the play-offs of the Europa League Conference (C4).
Brest-Rennes: 1-2
Despite the reluctance of some supporters, Bruno Genesio had described this meeting as a European final. And, as the saying goes, a final is not played, it is won. It was done in Brest. Carried by its strong man, Benjamin Bourigeaud, author of a double (12th, 45th + 3), Rennes won in Brittany on Saturday (2-1) and stole fourth place from Lille, qualifying for the Europa League.
The Rennais still doubted in Brest. Despite Benjamin Bourigeaud’s opener (1-0, 13th), Brest equalized from the penalty spot, through Haris Belkebla (1-1, 36th). But, untouchable at the end of the season, “Bourige” replaced Rennes in fourth place in Ligue 1 (2-1, 45th + 3), thanks to a free kick perfectly shot at the entrance to the area. The Rouge et Noir are making their return to the Europa League, to the delight of Hamari Traoré, who probably played his last match in the Rennes jersey.
Monaco-Toulouse: 1-2
The injured beast did not fight back once morest Toulouse on Saturday evening (1-2). In a series of three games without a win in Ligue 1, Monaco dictated the tempo of the meeting, without succeeding in unbalancing the opposing block, valiant as since the start of the season. And, on an offensive transition, Philippe Clement’s players conceded the opener (70th). On the lookout for a shot from Farès Chaïbi blocked by Alexander Nübel, Zakaria Aboukhlal pushed the ball into the net.
Back to the wall, Monaco came back to score through Wissam Ben Yedder (78th). But, as nothing is going well in Monaco, the ghost Rhys Healey scored the winning goal following additional time (90th + 4). The symbol of a successful season in Toulouse, and a ruined end to the season in the Principality.
Nice – OL : 3-1
OL were still dreaming this morning of qualifying for the Europa League Conference. To get there, the equation was complex: hope for the defeat of Rennes in Brest, that of Monaco once morest Toulouse, and make up for a difference of nine goals on Rennes (+20 for OL; +29 for Rennes). But, the Lyon supporters did not even have to take out the calculator. Their players collapsed in Nice (1-3) in the wake of Jérôme Boateng, involved in Nice’s first three goals.

OL finished the season outside the Top 5 for the third time in the last four Ligue 1 seasons (7th in 2019-2020, 8th in 2021-2022 and 7th in 2022-2023). This had never happened in the previous 21 seasons.
From the fifth minute of play, he scored an own goal following an ill-fitting back pass for Anthony Lopes. Then, he did not flinch in front of Sofiane Diop, easy, whose strike was repelled by Anthony Lopes. Gaëtan Laborde followed the stoppage of the Portuguese (28th) well. Finally, he did not cut the very good center of Hicham Boudaoui for Terem Moffi at the far post (33rd). Jeffinho saved the honor before half-time, following an excellent two-man game with Rayan Cherki (41st). OL are still disappointing and finish the season in 7th place, just ahead of Clermont (8th) and Nice (9th).
