Lightning Strike at Coney Island Beach During Fourth of July Celebrations

NEW YORK — In the midst of the Fourth of July holiday celebrations, which were interrupted by storms that battered parts of the tri-state area Tuesday followingnoon, a person was struck by lightning on the popular Coney Island beach in Brooklyn. .

According to the New York City Fire Department, the crew assisted a person who received an electric shock on 12th Street, between the attraction Deno’s Wonder and the Aquarium.

Paramedics gave him first aid and then took him to an area hospital, but his condition is unknown. Two other people who were in the area were also taken to the hospital.

The event occurs when Coney Island was also celebrating the traditional event, the famous hot dog eating contest on July 4, Nathan’s from Coney Island, which was delayed due to storms.
